planting plan 2009

We drew up our allotment plan in the autumn.
As we move to the growing season, our plan has been modified to give us Brussels Sprouts and increased space for red summer onions and for shallots.

Wow, and I was just happy to get my seed potatoes planted today.

OK, I'll have to get out and map my beds to reflect what I've sowed already.

P.S. We've got both of our apple trees (an Albemarle Pippin and an Esopus Spitzenburg) planted now in our mt. space. But I've got more Southern Appalachian heirloom apples on order to plant next fall.

Can't wait to hear how your mountain apples grow.

I've been meaning to ask you - have you read 'The Secret Life of bees'? It's set in SC and is a great read, three chapters in.
Having taken four months to labour through Dickens Pickwick Papers (a favourite) 'bees' seems so easy to read!
