water snail's pace progress

The laboured, water snail's (L. stagnalis) pace progress I am making with my garden pond continues.

The liner is in, the pond is almost full of water and most of the coping stones are now in place. In a masterpiece of rotten estimation I managed to end up with two coping stones less than I need. So, there's a job for the weekend. Then onto grouting them in.

Perhaps at that point I'll get chance to plant some aquatics - which is the fun bit.

I've heard it said that the movement to adulthood from childhood is marked by our ability to delay gratification. I've been working on this garden for two and a half years and still not finished.

I must be a real grown-up now!

That looks wonderful. There is something so relaxing about daydreaming and staring into a garden pond.

Now that is some delayed gratification for sure. I would never be able to do that. I am sort of a compulsive, "finish the project" kind of guy!
