a temporary new home for our plants
There are advantages to sandy soils: for instance they warm up quickly in spring .
Another advantage is that when it comes to taking apart your much-loved garden and transport the plants to a new temporary home, it can be done relatively easily.
At 8:00am this morning these plants were sitting in the garden, quite unaware that they were going on holiday.
By 11:58am they had all been dug out, loaded onto the trailer, barrowed up to their temporary home and planted!
We hope to give them a thick blanket of well-rotted horse manure before they are tucked up until 2012 and moved again (hopefully finally) to their permanent positions.
