Then stand back and admire!!
Piles of logs and sticks have been left to encourage wildlife at ground level.
A lot of work will be needed over the growing season to nurture these plants in such a dry and overshadowed bed.
And the finishing touch was to tie a bat box to the large sycamore - a gift from my friend Jane. Here's hoping that the abundance of invertebrates generated by our log and stick piles will provide mighty feasts for resident bats!!
