isn't she lovely ...? roof finished

Milestone day yesterday when the roofers' work was done.

Paul and Paul started work in the Autumn, were delayed by the wettest weather ever recorded in England, priorities on other sites and our slow decision taking on solar panels.

But here is the finished roof as seen from the south. The different colours of the tiles tell you in which phase of work each particular stage was undertaken. Eventually the colours will merge as the cedar shingles 'silver'...

In place too, the flashing that will house the chimney of the log burning stove.

The combination of ancaster stone, cedar boarding and shingles is knockout: she looks beautiful....

Looks good, I love the smell of cedar as you work it (the off cuts make great morning wood for the fire)

Wow, Rob -- I'm so impressed. I'm catching up a bit on blog posts and am glad to see how your building is going. It looks really big, but that may be misleading in the photo -- is it more than just your house?

It looks fabulous, in any case! Yeh!
