Absolutely love this wild carrot time of year… 

The compound lacy flat heads of wild carrot (daucus carrota) have a little distinctive central freckle.



Their seeds are held in a fibrous goblet that is good for harvest mice as well as finches.


Individually or in a group, they’re stars of our summer meadow…


Wild carrot is the larval food plant for fourteen moth species
