Four swifts overhead!

Than a dozen over the fields.

They spend their lives on the wing, only landing for nesting and rearing chicks.

Our once-common swifts are now on the red list of birds of conservation concern.

Saw one locally in 2022.

We’ve had a small number of local sitings this year with twelve being the highest. Encouraged.
