Attracting birds to the garden with bird food is one of the main ways people engage with nature.

Goldfinches at the bird feeder..

But we’re now learning of the dark downside of feeding which can include illness and death for birds. Deadly bird flu is just one of the diseases that may be passed on at bird feeders. 

Scrupulous hygiene is now needed to avoid disease

transmission. 

Wash & disinfect thoroughly & move feeders once a week says the BTO.

So, out comes the trusty old jet washer bought from the auctions and a hand spray of Jeyes Fluid for disinfectant.

We will keep those feeders clean.
