Gorgeous!

Day 33 #365DaysWild

Open the curtains to a fox on the lawn playing with a crow feather! Off he trotted having made our day. What a gorgeous animal!!

The release of 50 million pheasants each year has boosted fox numbers.

Naive pheasant poults released from pens in the summer are easy prey.

Released birds become roadkill ideal for scavengers like foxes.

When feeding stops in spring, birds starve and are easily taken by foxes.

First-year birds that make it to the breeding season have the eggs robbed from nests and then chicks taken.
