Summer crossing

Day 50 #365DaysWild

Late home in car after night at the World Famous City Ground.

Rain brought out many toads crossing the lane precariously. Toads cross in spring to get to their breeding ponds and return in warm wet summer evenings. This was such an evening.

We only put our Toads Crossing signs along the lane in the spring. Hedge cutting means the signs must be down after the spring crossing.

Toads are more plentiful in the garden than frogs. They’re valuable pest controllers.

Hope lots made it over.
