Day 85 #365DaysWild

Our no-mow lawn had become an impenetrable thatch.

We began to scythe and strim last week and yesterday got the job done.

The green town of evicted amphibians and voles and mice moved into the adjacent perennial beds, shepherded by a male kestrel. 

Now for the lawn to have recovery time - but while there’s a chance we’ll be planting more spring crocus. A pollinator boost for invertebrates.
