The Trent valley is reported as being awash. The village of Gibsmere evacuated. But no rain today for us and the opportunity to get into the garden.
I return to the long stooping slog of weeding in the most
weed-riddled bed in the Woodland Garden accompanied by the trickle of robin song. Couch stems removed but they’ll be back. A raven honks as it passes overhead.
