Forecast temperature average is 8C for February but expected to be 17C today.

1inch of rain last night.

Little wonder that the solitary toad in the pond of two days ago has now been joined by many toads and some frogs too.

The first corner boys in the toad male voice choir chirrup together.

As I blunder in the dark, a frog leaps from the grass and splashes down in the water at the pond edge.

All coming together awaiting the arrival of their lovely, bulky females.

In our minds, we expect frogspawn around my late dad's birthday - 21st March. I guess we'll be way in advance of that this year.
