Progressively flooded with lemon ...

Day 241 #365DaysWild

'Those who plant a garden invest in the future'
Audrey Hepburn

Winter aconites are now seeding freely. Hundreds of micro-plants appear among the leafmould.

Each act of a gardener is a hopeful act. Gardening is about making what comes next better.

Today heaving heavy logs to define a log-edged path in the Mothers Day garden. Over the coming years the logs will decay and during the process will nourish soil invertebrates and mycology. Other invertebrates, insectivorous mammals and birds will benefit.

The seedling aconites will become mature plants and the bare ground of late winter will progressively flood with lemon.

Eagerly anticipating next spring!
