Is Brown green?

The arrival of Gordon Brown as Prime Minister has seen a reappraisal of government priorities. Education is Gordon's passion and our health service his priority, we are told.
But what of sustainability?
I was disappointed to read that his right hand man, Cabinet Office minister Ed Milliband, had not placed climate change as a priority in his writing of the new Labour Party manifesto. I was further dismayed by the apparent 'downgrading' of the government's sustainability committee (Energy and the Environment) as reported in the Independent on Sunday. It is now a sub committee.
Our previous Prime Minister flitted from one thing to the next without seeing anything through. I can understand that Mr Brown wants to focus in on priorities. It is a crying shame that sustainability is not his priority.
