Work in progress

Progress over the Christmas holiday!
The right hand side of the garden, as seen from the house, had looked an eyesore for a year!
Out with the pond, out with the established bushes, the overgrown fire thorn, the broken fence.
In with a new path, separating the area into two beds. The bed closest to the fence includes a new blackcurrant bush and has been enriched with the contents of last years growbags. The log roll edging retains the soil.
In with new trellis, screening that side of the greenhouse. We transplanted a far-too-vigorous clematis viticella alba luxurians from the front garden to enjoy the new trellis and provide perching and hiding places for birds.
The hose pipe, just seen on the left, was used to mark the edge of the new border.
