planting thyme

Our garden redesign is nearing the end of this phase with the planting of the new path.

This side of the garden is south facing and the soil becomes dessicated during the summer. Ideal then for herbs and this weekend I bought a dozen or so small pots of herbs (mainly thymes) to finish the new path.

The intention is to create a path that looks good, tastes good and, by golly, does the wildlife good!

The range of small herbs will give foliage and flower interest; provide lots of snipping for cookery and provide loads of flowers for visiting bees, hoverflies and butterflies.

The wet weather of the past two days will certainly have settled the new plants in.

I can't wait to see what it looks like in July
