bat panels

A second photo from our visit to the RSPB headquarters in Sandy, Bedfordshire.

I can't tell you how excited I was to see these wooden panels fitted to the brick walls.

The narrow gap at the bottom of the slats is the give away: they're roosting places for bats.

The panels can easily be copied and will provide the gaps and cavities that bats have lost with the cutting down of old trees and the replacement of woooden facias and soffits with plastic.

Another job on the list!

These actually look like bats might roost in them. Fabulous!

I have now got one, propped against the kitchen wall waiting for me to fix it. Can't wait!
