Heaving hedgerow

Day 55 #365DaysWild

Heaving hedgerow. Sprawling rambling beautiful  thing.

Honeysuckle in second round of flower with sticky red berries. Insects all over them.

Our hedge was thin and gappy when arrived with an unsightly hole left by a dumped car.

We’ve added hazel, yew and holly and supplemented the existing hawthorn.

We’ve propagated honeysuckle and roses.

Ivy is flourishing.

Blackberries have made their own way into the hedge.

Small mammals, birds, amphibians and invertebrates make a home in or under it.

To some an unruly jungle. To me - bountiful and gorgeous.
