Parklife … !

Day 54 #365DaysWild

Lovers of municipal green spaces are getting increasingly worried.

Our parks & playgrounds are vital for our well-being and for wildlife. The BBC reports that the black hole in town hall budgets rises to a massive £5bn this year and this will put further pressure on non-statutory services.

Parks need statutory protection or their deterioration will accelerate.

As an example I attach a link from The Guardian reporting on the deterioration of children’s playgrounds.

Working in partnership with Notts County Council and with huge community support the Friends of Bestwood Country Park completely refurbished Andy’s Adventure Playground at a cost of £70,000. This would not have happened without the Friends’ group.

Your park needs you!

Please show your support for our park by joining us for our meeting at the Dynamo House on Monday 11th September at 7:00pm. BBC
