Harlequins. Literally everywhere! 

At least these had the sensitivity of not further invading personal space by, here, occupying a corner of the boot room.

Autumn is the time when harlequin ladybirds (in apparently infinite variety and sometimes big numbers) gather in quiet corners for their insect hibernation - their diapause.
