Aconites

Day 224 #365DaysWild

We planted aconite bulbs in 2014 in memory of our friend Sue who had died of cancer.
We planted more, in memory of her husband and our dear pal Kris who died during covid.

We invest our plants and flowers with great emotive power.

Each spring, as the plants emerge our thoughts return to Sue and Kris.

The plants are repaying us. More flower clumps each year. Now there are seedlings appearing scattered through the mulch.

Instead of memories fading the burgeoning aconites give us more opportunities to reflect on our friends each year.

78 flowering clumps today. A new record.
