first fix electrics begins

Another milestone this week - 'first fix' electrics began.

Our electrician Paul Wilson walked the building with us confirming the siting of the lights and switches. Then Dave began the long process of drawing cables to each of the rooms - 100 metres alone used serving our bedoom, ensuite and bedroom 2.

'Chasing out' for lights switches and power points

My role is daunting: I have already bemoaned my 'gracile' arms and I am now chasing out (that's chopping to you and me) all the positions where switches and lights will go. Noisy, man's work for which sensitive ears and arms of string are not best suited....

Low energy LED lighting will feature heavily in the lighting design.
